Psychology you can actually trust.
Hi, I’m Lisseth Capello, the founder of The Psychology Files
I've always been a little obsessed with the same question: why do people do what they do? Why we stay when we should go, why we misremember things we swear we saw, why the most confident person in the room can still get pulled into something toxic. That question led me to earn my Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology with a minor in Law — and it's the question behind everything I make.
Here's what I noticed along the way: the internet is flooded with psychology "facts." Half of them are myths, most of them are fear-mongering, and almost none of them cite an actual study. Meanwhile, the real research — the stuff that could genuinely help you understand yourself and the people around you — sits locked away in academic journals written in language no normal person wants to read.
That's the gap I built The Psychology Files to close.
Everything here is grounded in peer-reviewed research and translated into plain English — no jargon, no scare tactics, no labeling every difficult ex a "narcissist." Just the real psychology of how people think, behave, manipulate, remember, and decide, explained like a big sister who happens to have the credentials to back it up.
Whether you found me through a video, this site, or my free guide, my promise is the same: accurate, accessible, and actually useful.
